Key Responsibilities

1. Real-Time Operational Support

You will be responsible for keeping aircraft in service, solving problems quickly, and ensuring safe operations. Duties include:

• Providing 24/7 engineering support for line and layover maintenance
• Troubleshooting technical issues across the RwandAir network
• Managing AOG (Aircraft on Ground) events and coordinating recovery
• Monitoring deferred defects and MEL expiry
• Reviewing technical logs, debriefs, and operational data
• Ensuring corrective actions are carried out on time
• Advising flight and cabin crew on technical issues
• Liaising with OEMs, vendors, and engineering teams

This role requires a calm, analytical mind — especially under pressure.

2. Data, Reporting & Technical Analysis

• Identify recurring defects and produce monthly technical reports
• Evaluate fleet performance and recommend maintenance improvements
• Support continuous improvement of reliability and engineering processes

3. Leadership & Team Support

• Set objectives and monitor engineering team performance
• Guide, coach, and train technical personnel
• Support national talent development programs
• Ensure high standards of professionalism, documentation, and safety

4. Compliance, Safety & Environmental Responsibility

RwandAir places strong emphasis on regulatory compliance. As MCC Engineer, you will:

• Apply RCAA, ICAO, and company safety standards
• Promote hazard reporting and safety culture
• Ensure confidentiality, proper data handling, and documentation accuracy
• Support environmental policies and green aviation practices

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, applicants must have:

• Diploma or Degree in Aircraft Engineering (B.Eng., BSc, or equivalent)
• At least one ICAO/RCAA-approved license for RwandAir’s main fleet
• Minimum 3 years of MCC experience
• Strong technical comprehension, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability

• Troubleshooting aircraft systems
• Reading and interpreting technical manuals
• Mathematical and analytical problem-solving
• Strong communication and decision-making
• Ability to work under pressure
• Leadership and team supervision
• Knowledge of aviation tools, equipment, and software
